Crystal Zhao

Crystal Zhao is an Associate Lecturer in Social Work, a registered social worker, and a Flinders MSW alumna who also holds a Master’s in Education.

She integrates learning theory with contemporary practice and brings experience in student wellbeing, case management and cross-cultural engagement. Her teaching is grounded in relational, student-centred and strengths-based principles, shaped by her work in student transition and academic support. Her interests include critical reflexivity, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice, and professional identity formation. She aims to create inclusive learning environments that connect theory and practice while strengthening students’ confidence, ethical awareness and professional capability.
