Daniel Padovan is an Associate Lecturer (Teaching Specialist) in Sports Management. He is Course Coordinating the Bachelor of Business (Sports Management) and also Topic Coordinates BUSN2051 (Sports Marketing), BUSN3068 (Sports Law) and BUSN3069 (Sports Leadership and Governance).
Daniel is also part of a wider team conducting the Flinders University Diploma in Sports Management which will be exclusively housed in the newly established Port Adelaide Institute of Sport, based at the redeveloped Alberton Oval.
Before his career in academia, Daniel has worked in the defence industry, the emergency services, and has also been part of the sports industry in various roles. Daniel's PhD is currently under examination and his research focuses on how adventure therapies can be used as additional treatments to aid the mental health of military veterans and other frontline professions.
Over the years, Daniel has taught undergraduate and postgraduate topics in Sports Management, Strategic Management, International Business, as well as Marketing and Communications part-time at various institutions including Flinders since 2016 while completing his PhD. Daniel then became a full-time lecturer at Flinders University in 2022.
Daniel utilises a coaching approach to teaching and is very passionate about engaging and motivating students to succeed and achieve their goals. He also makes sure students can have some laughs and enjoy learning about the sports industry which they are passionate about.
Daniel also strongly encourages students to build skills by seeking practical experience via industry placements that will make them stand out from other candidates when they graduate. In everything he does when teaching, Daniel aims to make sure that his students are truly future ready.
