Francesca Bucci commenced her Ph.D. within the Medical Device Research Institute in Nov 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Saulo Martelli (Principal Supervisor), Prof. Mark Taylor (Associate Supervisor) and Dr. Rami Al-Dirini (Co-associate Supervisor).
Her research explores knee mechanics, in particular, ligaments mechanics across a healthy population through the integration of experimental data resources, Musculoskeletal and FE knee modeling, combined with the use of statistical methods (Ph.D. work within the Virtual Human Knee Project). She has also worked on modeling of the hip affected by osteoarthritis and after total hip replacement (briefly - Master Project).
