Dr Luke Gahan is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Education, Psychology, and Social Work. He is a sociological researcher in the Defence and Veteran Family Research team at the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) and has previously been an Associate Editor of the Health Sociology Review Journal and secretary of The Australian Sociological Association (TASA). 

Luke has extensive experience in research and currently undertakes research on military and veteran families in Australia. His previous research has explored separation and divorce, elder abuse, intimate partner violence, dementia and aged care, ethnic minority communities, religion and spirituality, and LGBTIQ health and wellbeing. 

Luke has lectured and tutored at Federation, La Trobe, Swinburne, and Melbourne Universities.
