The Autism Research Laboratory is one example of the important work Flinders is undertaking to uncover the world of neurodiversity. In 2024, they were awarded an additional $850,000 to support the establishment of a new Autism Research Initiative aimed at driving strategic collaboration between researchers and partners to build capacity for research and education on autism.
The Project Echo Network series is dedicated to supporting healthcare technology in the Northern Territory. A Project Echo network has been established to explore the needs of neurodivergent peoples. The Networks aims to challenge, break down and deconstruct the medical model of disability, and better understand how to support people with a lived experience.
