Associate Professor Shane Pill

Shane Pill PhD is an experienced youth sport coach across a range of individual and team sports, with over 30 years of coaching involvement. He is the author of six resource books on the concept of Play with Purpose using a Game Sense approach for PE teaching and sport coaching. He has published the text Perspectives on Athlete Centred Coaching with Routledge, and his second book with Routledge, Perspectives on Game-based Coaching, is due mid-2020. Shane has worked with community, state and national sport organisations on coach education or resource development, including Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia, AFL, NRL, Lacrosse Australia. Shane's expertise is widely sought as a speaker and consultant, nationally and internationally, including twice keynoting the AFL National Coaching Conference. Shane has been president of the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) at state and national levels and he is a Fellow and Life Member of ACHPER.
