Hello my name is Ankit from India, and I’m studying Master of Counselling (Behavioural Health).

The Flinders VC Scholarship offers me the incredible opportunity to study at Flinders University, a prestigious institution known for delivering world-class education. Becoming one of the top professionals in my field is a key goal that drives me, and gaining international experience is crucial for my career growth.

Perseverance is my main driving force because I strongly believe that consistency and hard work are essential for achieving success. My experiences have taught me that staying disciplined and not giving up, even when faced with challenges, is crucial to reaching my goals. I find motivation in knowing that progress comes from steady, focused effort, this mindset inspires me to keep pushing forward.

What are your career aspirations?

My career aspirations are centered around becoming one of the world’s leading counselors, dedicated to providing exceptional service to those in need. I aim to make innovative contributions that can revolutionise the field, pushing boundaries and setting new standards for effective counseling practices.

Additionally, I aspire to write and publish books on my specialisation, sharing valuable insights and knowledge to ensure that everyone has access to reliable and comprehensive information. My goal is to make a positive impact on both the professional community and individuals seeking guidance, and improving counseling as a profession.

Hobbies

I practice beatboxing and enjoy playing the ukulele when I find time to improve my skills. I also focus on sketching, particularly character building, where I create stories and comic strips that I later use as digital references for my passion projects. Badminton keeps me physically active, and playing regularly at sport clubs has helped me make connections and find common interests with others.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

If I could have a superhero power, it would be the ability to control time. This would let me pause, rewind, or fast-forward moments, enabling me to catch details I may have overlooked and relive cherished memories.

Tell us something about your culture that you are looking forward to sharing with other students?

Food is a significant part of my culture that I’m excited to share. Indian cuisine, with its rich mix of spices and ingredients, offers a unique and flavorful experience. Having lived outside of India, I've had the opportunity to blend both Indian and Emirati cultures.
