Hello, my name is Shivani from Nepal, and I’m studying Master of Business Administration (Healthcare Management).

I am motivated by the desire to make a positive impact in healthcare. The Flinders VC Scholarship means a lot to me and encourages me to work hard, grow as a student, and represent the university with pride.

The values that guide me are kindness, perseverance, and continuous learning. Growing up, I saw my grandfather and father managing health conditions, which made me realise how important healthcare is in people’s lives. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I can contribute to improving healthcare systems.

What appeals about studying in Adelaide?

Adelaide is a safe, welcoming, and student-friendly city. I like that it offers a calm lifestyle while still having a vibrant student community.

What are your top 5 accomplishments, both professional and personal, to date?

• Completing my Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science with a GPA of 3.61.

• Becoming a registered pharmacist in Nepal and supporting patients with medication and health advice.

• Conducting my undergraduate research on the medicinal properties of guava leaves.

• Being involved in the Youth Red Cross Circle and participating in volunteer activities.

• Receiving the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship at Flinders University, which I feel very grateful and proud of.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a child, I wanted to become a police officer because my father was a police officer. I really admired his dedication and the way he helped people. My brother and I used to play “police and thieves”, and I would always choose to be the police officer.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not studying/working?

I enjoy going to the gym, dancing, and creating short videos or editing reels. I also love exploring cafés and spending time with friends.

What would be your super hero power and why?

If I could have a superpower, it would be the ability to heal people instantly, because helping people live healthier and happier lives would be incredibly meaningful to me.
