Meet our Vice-Chancellor Scholarship Recipients.

Hello, my name is Tahzeeb from Bangladesh, and I’m studying Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence).

I believe in doing every task with intent and purpose, whether it is doing the dishes or fine-tuning a machine learning model. Approaching even mundane tasks with focus helps me stay engaged, live in the moment, and honour my commitments to my peers and loved ones.

Since much of life consists of routine responsibilities that may not spark passion, being fully present allows me to find contentment and meaning in everyday moments.

I am inspired by how mathematical models can identify patterns on their own and how technology can turn these insights into real-world solutions. Watching a model, I coded during my formative years do this gave me a rare moment of fascination when learning felt alive. Experiences like this drive me to explore artificial intelligence as a tool to solve practical problems and create meaningful social impact.

Why study in Australia?

Australia felt like the perfect balance of great education and practical living. Five Australian cities are in the top 20 most liveable cities globally, which really stood out to me.

Having lived in Dhaka for 25 years, I value the opportunity to gain a broader global perspective while studying in a country known for its multiculturalism and welcoming attitude toward international students.

What are your career aspirations?

I want to keep building my skills in machine learning and AI through real industry experience. Eventually, I'd like to pursue a PhD and focus on research that creates social impact, while also teaching and mentoring future technologists. My long-term goal is to achieve financial independence early so I can retire comfortably and focus on work that's genuinely meaningful to me, without money being the main factor in my decisions.

Do you have a favourite quote?

"Sometimes I'll start a sentence, and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way." - Michael Scott in The Office.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not studying/working?

I enjoy listening to music, especially blues. I also like spending time with friends, whether we're sharing a meal or just relaxing together. Staying active is important to me through basketball, hiking, and strength training

What would be your super hero power and why?

If I could choose a superpower, it would be the unwavering determination and strategic mindset of Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan. His ability to stay calm under pressure, plan, and lead with conviction is something I deeply admire and aspire to embody in my own life.
