Head up to our Health Precinct in the Hub (Alere) – we have an information booth for each career area, giving you the opportunity to discuss your study and career options with our academic team.

Plus, we have a range of fun activities to get involved in – from exercise testing to augmented reality HoloLens to the Anatomage table, which allows you to virtually see and dissect anatomy.

Nutrition

Create a healthier world and explore the relationship between diet, health, and disease prevention. Attend our Nutrition information session to explore careers as a nutritionist and dietitian and learn more about Flinders nutrition degrees. Head along to the Multimedia Lounge on the ground floor of the Hub to watch Flinders University lecturer and dietitian Dr Olivia Farrer talk about the pros and cons of popular diets. Don’t forget to grab a ticket at the Health Precinct to attend a tour of our working health clinic, Health2Go, where our students treat real patients during their training.

There has never been a more meaningful time to study Public Health. It is one of the most rapidly growing fields, especially since the global COVID-19 pandemic. Technological breakthroughs, impacts of climate change, emerging infectious diseases, pandemic management and better public awareness of racism, inequality and injustice, all makes for a rewarding career in public health. 

Exercise Science

Come along to our Exercise Science and Clinical Physiology information session to learn more about applying exercise to chronic disease management and treatment, as well as the maximisation of sporting performance and community health. Visit the Health Precinct info booth put your body to the test with cardiopulmonary (V02max), lactate threshold, and exercise ECG testing.

Disability

Come along to the information session to discover how a degree in Disability & Community Inclusion can provide support and advocacy to help people live their best life. If you want to learn more about career pathways, the Social Work information session will give valuable insight into where you might go after uni. Plus, attend a tour to explore our beautiful campus.

Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy

Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy professionals provide therapy to improve lives with a focus on client-centred care. Attend the information session to receive an overview of both careers and learn about Flinders degrees and pathways. W

It’s time for some fun activities – visit the Health Precinct to put your body to the test cardiopulmonary (V02max), lactate threshold, and exercise ECG testing, or choose something more relaxing with a roving 10-minute stretching class. 

Paramedicine

When the unthinkable happens, be the person who makes an impact. Understand what needs to be done in an emergency and get the training to do it through the Flinders Paramedicine Program. Hear why a Flinders degree will give you the chance to not only change lives, but to save lives. Take your new-found knowledge and visit our fully functioning ambulance in the hub, showcasing everything you will learn, how you will use it, and the difference you can make to our communities.

Speech Pathology

Communication and being able to swallow are fundamental to a good quality of life. Join our information session to explore the highly rewarding career of a speech pathologist and learn what you’ll study throughout your degree.
