30 Years of GIS

On Friday, 23 October 2026, Flinders University celebrated an incredible milestone: 30 years of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) teaching. This occasion highlights not only the longevity of GIS education at Flinders, but also the strength of the cohort and the lasting connections built across generations of students, graduates, and staff.

The celebration offered a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the early days of the GIS degree, while also hearing from alumni now working across industry and seeing how far the geospatial profession has come.
