Meet our Vice-Chancellor Scholarship Recipients.

What motivates me is the potential to emotionally connect with people from all different walks of life through my art and the journey of learning art.

Music inspires me the most, as it’s the ‘mother art’ - the most universally understood art form. It reminds me to be as true to my creative vision as often as possible. 

Why study in Australia? 

I am drawn to the natural scenery in Australia, as we don’t get much of that in Hong Kong. Australia also has a reputation for having a welcoming and easygoing culture, and it’s definitely proven itself right. Having been to other countries, I wanted to challenge myself by going solo to a new country where I had zero personal connections.  

I’ve met a close group of both international and local Australian friends here at Flinders and I’m really grateful to have been given this chance to meet them. The skies I see here are gorgeous too, and I never get tired of them. They’re a constant mood lifter in my university life.

Tell us something about your culture that you enjoy sharing with other students? 

I love teaching my friends Cantonese words, it’s really enjoyable seeing the similarities and differences in expression between a myriad of cultures. I also enjoy sharing my Asian snacks with my friends since they’re universally loved.
