Finding your place starts before you arrive. A little preparation means less time figuring out logistics and more time figuring out where you belong. These tips won't rush that process. They'll just make sure the practical stuff doesn't get in the way, so you can get on with enjoying your open days experience.
Check how you're getting to each location before you arrive. Our getting there page covers driving, public transport, and everything in between.
At Bedford Park, come in through the welcome entry on Registry Road to find your map and tote bag. Parking on campus is free on Friday and Saturday. Car Park 6 is closest but fills up fast. Car Park 1 near the Hub is a good backup. If you're catching the bus, the 270 and 271 run directly to campus from the city.
Heading to City Campus? It's a short walk from Tram Stop 10 at Morphett Street.
On Sunday at the City campus you'll find plenty of food options, plus we're in the heart of the city.
On Friday and Saturday at Bedford Park there are food outlets on campus including Subway, Burger Theory at the Tavern, Toly Vietnamese, Mr Wuhu sushi, Bakmi Lim Noodle Project, Chico Tea Boba Project, Curry Campus and more, so there's plenty to keep you fuelled and focused on the important stuff. Eat before midday if you can, since queues between 12 and 1pm are long.
Not sure what to study? My Career Match takes a few minutes and points you toward the courses that fit how you think and what you're into. A good first stop if you're keeping your options open.
You can get a conditional offer at Open Day, which is the fastest way to lock in your place. Drop by to find out if you're eligible and what happens next.
Download the campus map or walking map before you arrive, or grab one at the welcome stand. Join a campus tour with our student ambassadors, or go deeper with specialist tours covering the Drama Centre, Biodiversity Centre, Flinders Living, and more.
If you're exploring with family, it helps to split up for a stretch. Students can attend talks and course info sessions while parents browse the campus and support services. You can find each other again for the big decisions.
Open Day isn't just for students. There's a lot here for the people supporting them too. Flinders staff can talk you through course pathways, fees and HECS, scholarship options, and what student support actually looks like day to day. Find your answers at course stands or student services desks, whether that's about accommodation, safety, or mental health support.
Open Day is hands-on. Escape rooms, courtrooms, lab coats, robot dogs, liquid nitrogen. Check what sessions and tours are on and plan a rough run before you arrive. You won't see everything, and that's fine. Pick two or three areas that matter most and follow those threads.
Talk to staff and student ambassadors. They're there for real conversations about courses, campus life, applications, and career paths. The students especially. They were in the same position not long ago.
Before you leave, find your subject guide in your welcome tote bag. It lists every course available at Flinders, so you have something to take home, read through, and share with your family.
Tips from students who've done it before. What to bring, where to go, and how to make the most of the day.
Parents have questions too. Here's an honest guide to what Open Day looks like from the other side.
Never been to an Open Day before? No stress. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive.
