Written by Claire Wilson, Intern for the Vienna Space Internship Program for 2025
As our final week at European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) fast approaches, I find myself reflecting on the incredible experiences I have had, and I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities and connections I have made along the way.
At work, I’ve been fortunate to contribute to a project on space-based data centres, a concept that is as fascinating as it is promising. The possibility of enhancing our environment through space is so exciting, and the potential to have sustainable data centres through this means has been thrilling to explore. I have also been working once again on the insights, however this time for the Industry and Business section. I have loved this task, as it is a perfect opportunity to truly know all the major space events and trends currently happening.
Outside of work, Ellie and I joined the ESPI colleagues for a day at Stuhleck ski resort. While I had dreams of gracefully skiing, my skill level didn’t quite satisfy such goals. Despite my below average ski skills, it was such a wonderful day. From drinking hot chocolate, to enjoying the atmosphere and creating the ultimate diva snowgirl, it was really a day to remember.
This weekend I will be lucky enough to experience one of Vienna’s most cherished traditions, attending a ball. The Juristenball (Lawyer’s Ball) will be taking place at the Hofburg Palace, which I have (very luckily) been invited to attend. I am thrilled to experience this aspect of the Viennese culture and just hope my waltzing skills are better than my skiing skills.
Here is to the final week with ESPI, to those who have made this experience what it is, I will forever be grateful.
We offer appointments with our prospective student team to discuss career options, pathways, and course and entry requirements.
