So, you might be asking yourself: where can I work after studying Dance? Are there even jobs out there and if so, which? Well, let us tell you – yes, there are!
Here are what 3 of our recent graduates are up to nowadays:
After graduating in 2020, Amelia has collaborated and worked for artists across the world. Recent projects include collaborating with choreographer Tanya Voges, researching dance movement therapy and improvisational practices for performance - while developing her show, ‘The Score’.
She also presented a self-choreographed solo show called Sentiments which premiered in the Carclew Ballroom alongside her producers Alchemy Collective, with support from Helpmann Academy, and while in residency in the Tanja Liedtke Studio at Australian Dance Theatre, Amelia developed a new work titled Distortion, conducting research and reflecting on how the dance industry can become more accessible for dancers with lived experience in illness or disability.
To top it all off, Amelia taught at AC Arts for a semester, imparting knowledge, information and skills for the current cohorts to influence and inspire their improvisational movement styles.
A 2022 graduate, Tayla Hoadley participated in the 3-month b12s ‘Mavericks’ program in Berlin, Germany in 2025, enabling her to work with Akira Yoshida amongst many other incredible artists.
Tayla has had the pleasure of working and performing with Restless Dance Theatre in ‘Shifting Perspectives’ at VIVID Sydney in 2024 and began her first development on ‘Essence of Authenticity’, a solo work she created and directed with fellow artist Sophie Hollingworth with a funding from Carclew Project & Development grant.
Tayla has also been a performer for Motus Collective’s rendition of the ‘The Leftovers’ in 2023 and at the Adelaide Festival Centre, Space Theatre in 2024.
2024 graduate Poppy Anthoney’s career is thriving. Whether as a rehearsal assistant and performer with Stephanie Lake's Mass Movement at the Adelaide Festival, as a guest artist with Restless Dance Company, performing Seeing Through a Darkness at WOMADelaide or performing in the art exhibition Mémoire d'un danseur by Guy Detot with Lewis Major Projects.
