We recognise committing to a year of full time study can feel overwhelming. Flinders University offers staggered qualifications as you complete certain milestones. Complete 4 topics for a Graduate Certificate, 8 topics for a Graduate Diploma, and 12 topics for a Master’s degree with each stage recognised as a standalone qualification. You’ll simply need to apply and be admitted at each level, with credit available for topics already completed.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of research principles and methods in Remote Health and Indigenous health contexts

A former Remote Area Nurse Educator in Central Australia, Fiona now teaches in the Graduate Certificate in Remote Health Practice and the Transition to Remote Area Nursing program, equipping the next generation of remote health professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for safe, effective practice in the field.

The Master is designed for experienced health professionals seeking leadership, policy, research, or specialist roles in remote, regional, and Indigenous health.

The program can be completed in 2 years full-time or part-time equivalent. Prior qualifications and experience may affect the pathway and duration. This articulated program was developed in collaboration with CRANAplus and is offered in online mode through Flinders University, Alice Springs campus.

Graduates are prepared for senior roles including Remote Health Program Manager, Indigenous Health Policy Advisor, Remote Health Service Director, and Population Health Researcher.

This program combines advanced clinical, public health, research, and leadership training, preparing graduates to influence health outcomes and policy in remote and Indigenous communities.
