A degree apprenticeship allows you to complete a degree in Engineering while gaining industry experience and earning a salary. The apprenticeship is co‑designed with our industry partners.
Employers provide on‑the‑job training through qualified and experienced supervisors, and you will put your learning into practice as you develop the skills gained throughout your university studies. You will be employed under a Training Contract with one of our employer partners.
You will graduate as a qualified Engineer.
Over five years, you’ll acquire the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel as an engineer. By the time you graduate, you'll have both an Honours degree and invaluable on-the-job experience.
The Training Contract is the legally binding and formal agreement between the host employer and you. It is for five years. It sets out key obligations of both the apprentice and the employer, training and supervision requirements, duration of the training and probationary period. The Training Contract also includes a Training Plan.
A Training Plan outlines the qualification being completed, the topics involved, how the training and assessment will occur, and the responsibilities the apprentice, employer and Flinders throughout the apprenticeship.
· The standard University entrance requirements apply
· Subject pre-requisite of SACE Stage two Specialist Mathematics or Mathematical Methods (or equivalent)
· Australian citizenship
The Degree Apprenticeship program is designed for students new to the field of Engineering.
