Build practical Italian language skills while exploring the rich culture, history and everyday life of Italy through this flexible online micro-credential.
Designed for beginners, this course introduces you to speaking, listening, reading and writing in Italian across three sequential online modules. You’ll also gain insights into Italian culture, contemporary society and the Italian diaspora in Australia.
The Italian Language and Culture micro-credential is made up of three online modules designed to progressively build your confidence and communication skills in Italian.
You’ll learn through interactive activities focused on:
Participants who complete all three modules will receive a certificate of completion and the micro-credential.
Students also have the option to complete additional assessments to become eligible for credit towards award study at Flinders University.
This micro-credential is suited to:
No prior knowledge of Italian is required.
Develop foundational Italian language skills and learn common expressions used in everyday situations.
Topics include:
Build confidence in written Italian through grammar, sentence structure and language conventions.

Apply your language skills in practical and conversational contexts while exploring Italian media and contemporary life.

Participants will complete assessments throughout the course, which may include portfolios, quizzes and tests or oral presentations.
Students wishing to receive academic credit will complete additional assessment tasks.
By the end of the micro-credential, you will be able to:
Students who successfully complete all three modules and the additional assessment requirements may be eligible for 4.5 units of credit for ITAL1201 - Introductory Italian Part 1
This credit may be applied towards a range of eligible degree programs at Flinders University.
