The postgraduate emergency nursing program applies knowledge of the biophysical sciences and principles of emergency nursing practice to the clinical management of adult and paediatric patients. It uses a problem-solving approach and involves active participation in nursing assessment.
You will be introduced to the fundamental concepts in professional adult and paediatric emergency practice. The specialisation also includes primary and secondary survey principles, adult and paediatric health problem assessment, reactions and attitudes to emergency hospitalisation, immediate and ongoing clinical management and evaluation of emergency interventions.
Theoretical concepts and nursing skills will be linked to current emergency nursing practice.
These courses can be taken fully online with placements undertaken in person at a health service near you, or as work integrated learning within your place of work.
