Fast, flexible, affordable study - postgraduate study is your next step to career success.
At Flinders, many of our postgraduate courses offer 'Commonwealth Supported Places' (CSP), which means the Government subsidises up to 80% of the cost*.
*Government subsidies enable Flinders to offer domestic applicants a reduction of up to 80% off full course fees through Commonwealth Supported Places. Not all courses. Offer subject to change.
Eligibility is assessed at the time of offer. Not all programs have CSP places available - confirm on the relevant course page before applying.
Select a study area to browse available courses. You'll be able to see if CSP is available on your specific course page.

Over the years, many questions have been asked by students before. For the quickest answers, view our faqs below, or browse the full list @ Ask Flinders.
A ‘Commonwealth supported place’ (CSP) is a place at a university or higher education provider, where the government pays part of your fees. This part is a subsidy, not a loan, and you don't have to pay it back.
HECS-HELP is a government loan scheme that assists eligible Commonwealth supported students in paying the remaining part of their fees.
You can! Commonwealth supported places are typically for undergraduate degrees, but you can access CSP through a range of postgraduate study options (like Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Masters) at Flinders - and you've come to the right place to find out more. See the full list of postgraduate courses offering CSP above.
It might. All Commonwealth supported students start with access to the equivalent of seven years of full-time study in a CSP - this limit is known as your Student Learning Entitlement (SLE). As you undertake study as a Commonwealth supported student, your SLE will reduce: and when you run out, you may have to pay full fees. Study undertaken as a Commonwealth supported student prior to 1 January 2022 will not reduce this seven-year limit.
The good news is, you can accrue additional SLE if you are enrolled in a postgraduate course of study or a graduate entry bachelor degree! Learn more about SLE on the Australian Government's Study Assist website.
That depends on the course you choose to study, but the difference can be significant. Visit any of the course pages (listed above) to discover what the CSP annual indicative fees are versus the full-fee paying price.
