What you will study

First year A typical first year may include:	study with student engineers of all disciplines and core topics in engineering design, professional skills, engineering programming, engineering physics and materials, engineering mechanics, and mathematics commonality in the first year that means you can transfer between engineering disciplines easily at the end of the year
Second year A typical second year may include:	core topics in automation and industrial control, electronic circuits, fluid mechanics, dynamics and mechanical design
Third year A typical third year may include:	topics in electrical circuits and machines, mechanics and structures, mechanics of machines, sensors and actuators, engineering materials, control systems, thermodynamics and energy systems
Fourth year A fourth year may include:	topics in engineering project management together with study that examines how to work as a professional engineer topics in applied thermo-fluid dynamics and solid mechanics a 20-week industry placement a 20-week industry placement. there is an opportunity to specialise in various areas of electrical and electronic engineering
Fifth year A fifth year may include:	a major mechanical and electrical and electronic engineering honours thesis allowing high-performing students to progress to a higher degree by research a capstone topic in your chosen major further studies exploring practicing as a professional engineer a selection of electives in allied science and engineering areas.
