What is the MBA AI?

The MBA AI is Australia’s first MBA specifically designed around the future of business and artificial intelligence. It’s an industry-focused degree that prepares you to lead organisations in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Why should I study a MBA in AI over a Graduate Certificate for example?

If your goal is to lead in the AI-driven business world and move into high-impact roles, a Master’s degree is the stronger choice. You'll gain deeper expertise and the leadership focus is ideal if you want to manage teams, shape strategy and drive innovation. Rather than just getting an introduction into AI, you'll be able to translate insights into strategies and deliver measurable organisational impact.

Do I need a background in AI or IT to study this MBA?

No, the MBA AI is designed for business professionals from a wide range of disciplines, not just technical fields. The course is structured so that foundational concepts like data analytics, machine learning, and AI applications are taught from the ground up.

Can I study while working full-time?

What kind of industry experience will I gain?

You can complete up to 36 weeks of industry experience through Work Integrated Learning and industry programs, giving you practical exposure to real business challenges.

Do I need a degree to study the MBA?

Not necessarily. Work experience could also get you in. To view the admission requirements for the MBA, refer to the Handbook.

What is the difference between CSP and FFP?

Some courses have Commonwealth supported places (CSP) available for domestic students, which means the course is subsidised by the Commonwealth Government. A CSP student will pay this subsidised fee as their student contribution.

Alternatively, a full-fee-paying (FFP) place refers to a course that is not subsidised by the Commonwealth Government, or a course that has filled all available CSP places. A FFP student will pay this fee in its entirety.

Some courses may have both CSP and FFP places available.

What documents do I need for my international application?

The type of documents you will need for your international application depends on what course you are applying for and which country you are a citizen of. Course requirements are stated on each course webpage. Examples of documentation you might expect to provide for your international application include a copy of personal identification, academic transcripts or a resume.

When should I apply for my student visa?

Once you have received your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter from Flinders University, you should apply for your visa as soon as possible as visa processing times can vary. You will receive your CoE letter after you have applied to study at Flinders, accepted your offer and paid the semester tuition fee.

No. Part-time study is currently not available for international students due to visa conditions.

Can I study online?

No. Online study is currently not available for international students due to visa conditions.

What if I don’t meet English language requirements?

If you don’t meet our English language or academic entry requirements, you can still gain entry to Flinders University through our on-campus pathway provider Flinders University Academy. Alternatively, you can improve your English language proficiency through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers.

You can apply to study as an international student directly through Flinders University or an authorised agent in your country.

If you are from one of the countries listed here, you are required to apply via an education agent. If you reside onshore in Australia, you will not require an agent even if you are from the countries listed above.

Can I work while studying in Australia?

Yes. As a student visa (subclass 500) holder, you and your dependents (family members) can work up to 48 hours a fortnight when your course of study is in session. If you have started a master degree by research or doctoral degree, this rule does not apply to you and working hours are not restricted.

SATAC will notify you of an offer on behalf of Flinders University by emailing the offer letter. Offers will be made to the highest preference for which you are both eligible and sufficiently competitive.

Accept via SATAC or your offer email, then complete enrolment through the Enrolling @ Flinders portal.
